America Chavez: A history
America was created in 2011 by Joe Casey for the series Vengeance. It was a 6 issue mini so most of the characters didn’t receive much screen second. We know America has an terrible attitude and likes to fight and occasionally drops some spanish words. It seems like he wanted to perform more with her but he never got the chance.
Powers: Flight, durability and strength.
Young Avengers (2013)
Here’s where things begin to get weird. Gillen wanted an American themed ethics to round out his cast. They wouldn’t let him use Patriot (he did anyway though). America is now a lesbian from a gay world created by Wiccan. He is their god. She has 2 moms. She gets the portals with no explanation what-so-ever. Mckelvie’s art leaves me feeling dead inside most of this manual is set in a dimension that is pure ivory so he doesn’t have to trace backgrounds and he got help on the rest.
Prodigy was also made Pansexual for this guide, this comes up later.
Powers: Flight, durability, and strength, Portals that can traverse space and dimensions.
Ultimates 2015
By most accounts Ultimates is a good book(though people will accuse you of racism if you don’t appreciate it.)
Dr. Strange In The Multiverse: Benedict Wong Blasts Trolls Targeting Teen Actor Playing The Character America Chavez Who Has Two Moms.
Benedict Wong has blasted homophobic trolls for attacking teenage star Xochitl Gomez.
The ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' actor has defended his co-star – who plays gay superheroAmerica Chavez in the Marvel blockbuster – after backlash over her character, who references her lesbian mothers in the film.
Speaking to Asia One, Gomez said: “It's a big deal that America is in this movie. It's just huge. And I'm just so happy that Marvel has stuck to it and kept the scene in there.
“And it's just pretty crazy that I get to be the one who plays America. Although, yes, my mention may be circled within hate and stuff but it's okay.”
However, Wong jumped into the interview and added: “It's not okay. It's not okay. We have to all collectively understand that… She auditioned aged 13 and she joined us aged 14, one of the youngest actors to join the MCU of a clip of that magnitude.
“You understand, she's just a childish girl playing her role and full praise for that.”

Disney’s new Marvel movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is causing some trouble in Saudi Arabia. The region banned the film because of what Saudi officials say is “barely 12 seconds” of America Chavez referencing her two moms. Disney was asked by Saudi officials to trim the moment from the film and the business company refused to execute so. So far, the film has also been banned from Egypt, Kuwait, and Qatar.
Disney has turn into an unexpected target in the current fight for LGBTQ+ rights in the U.S. and around the world. After taking a stand against Florida’s so-called “Don’t Say Gay” bill, the company has been targeted by anti-LGBTQ+ activists and politicians seeking to do harm to the company for siding with the LGBTQ+ community.
“It’s just her talking about her moms, because she has two moms,” Nawaf Alsabhan, Saudi Arabia’s general supervisor of cinema classification, said according to The Guardian. “And being in the Middle East, it’s very tough to pass something enjoy this. We sent it to the distributor, and the distributor sent it to Disney, and Disney has told us they are not willing.”

She would eventually go on to work with superhero groups like the Young Avengers and even become cover friends with Hawkeye successor Kate Bishop.
