When some fans began to comment about the group’s history of allegedly not entity supportive of male lover or trans people, she replied and said she had reached out to Salvation Army leadership.
“Upon researching this, I have reached out to The Salvation Army and said that I would have no decision but to draw out unless they very quickly build a solid, devoted pledge or donation to the LGBTQ community," Goulding wrote. "I am a committed philanthropist as you probably realize, and my heart has always been in helping the homeless, but supporting an anti-LGBTQ nonprofit is clearly not something I would ever intentionally undertake . Thank you for drawing my attention to this.”

We caught up with the charmingly giddy Goulding, who chatted about her great gay following, moving into a gloomy place for her sophomore album, and how covering an Elton John ballad was a blessing in disguise.
I hear there's a big gay turnout at your shows, is that right?
Yeah, there is for some reason. I found I have quite a lesbian following, and I feel love I have quite a big male lover following – and I don't comprehend why.
Does your boyfriend ever obtain jealous of the lesbians that devotion you so much?
Yes! But he realizes that I meet a lot of people just generally on tour – but, you know, he always gets guys and girls after him, so…

A long-standing controversy around the Salvation Army and its stance on homosexuality has been reignited by singer/songwriter Ellie Goulding.
The situation arose when the NFL announced that the English recording creator would give the halftime performance for the Dallas Cowboys football game on Thanksgiving Day – a game which also serves as the kickoff for the Red Kettle Campaign for Salvation Army. Goulding praised the Christian entity on her Instagram Nov. 12 for “providing nourishment for the hungry, emergency relief for disaster survivors, rehabilitation for those suffering from drug and alcohol abuse, and clothing and shelter for people in need.”
Goulding’s followers were rapid in expressing their disapproval, citing the Salvation Army’s long history of putting into action “homophobic and transphobic” policies and of spreading “anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric.”
One commenter pointed out, “They only help *certain* people. Very homophobic, transphobic, anti-LGBTQIA+ organization. Please perform your research before endorsing a company that continues to hurt our community.”
Goulding then replied, in a since-deleted comment, “Upon re
